Marriage??
I've been asking friends about whether they want to get married in the future, and here are some negative replies I've gotten:
1) "No, because I don't believe a marriage will make two things better between two people - greater fights will ensue. Things are good the way they are."
2) "No, because I don't believe I'm good at showing affection."
3) "No, because it leads to the potential of divorce and other hassles, especially when wealth and children are involved."
4) "No, because I have commitment issues."
I personally want to get married one day. Why? Similar reasons as others:
1) Legal bonds to the person you love and connect with...FOREVERRR...
2) Without marriage, it's considered immoral to have children outside of wedlock...and I want a family.
3) Family expectations combined with my own expectations.
There's more, but I'm not going to go through it all in detail. It makes me a bit sad when I hear that some people don't want to get married. Maybe they'll change their minds in the future.
We're still young - we have the luxury of pondering...
